IT Officer (Kibondo) - World Vision

Purpose of the position:
Undertake ICT equipment maintenance and security measure on data, software and system as per IT policies.
Communicate World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support services to customers (staff) on IT systsems, Lotus Notes, Microsoft client platforms, Sun Systems, Network support (LAN ), HR Package and any other application run by the organization.
  • Monitor proper functioning of critical systems and connectivity.
  • To install and update antivirus on clients computers as well as advising them on how to keep virus free office environment.
  • Receive all new IT hardware ensuring that it is captured in the asset database and is properly allocated. This also involves verifying the delivery versus the order.
  • Undertake monitoring visits to the projects in order to ensure all systems and maintenance services are within the standards.
  • Participate in capacity building to staff and other ICT related issues.
  • Compile periodical reports and submit timely.
  • Advocate for the implementation of IT policies, procedures, standards and guidelines and advise on any changes of the same.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
  • Qualification required: Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • One year ( 1 ) work experience:
  • Preferred: BSc in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field
  • Other: IT related business administration / project management experience is preferred.
Working Environment / Conditions:
  • Work environment: Office-based with planned travel to the field
  • Travel: 20% Domestic/international travel is required.
  • On call: 30%.
